My Backyard Chicken Political Effort: Local author is advocating for backyard chicken keeping in Lima Township


We were forced to rehome our hens when we moved from urban Ann Arbor to rural Lima Township, something that still doesn't make sense to me. I recently attended my local township meeting in hopes of convincing them to update their ordinance to allow backyard chickens in residential areas. Happy Halloween from your friendly Michigan children's book author. Our chickens carved this jack-o-lantern, believe it or not!  We simply peeled the areas we wanted them to peck, and then set the full pumpkin in their chicken coop. They pecked and pecked until nothing remained but this spooky face!

Local Author Fair at Chelsea Sounds and Sights

I had the privilege of being accepted into the local author fair at the Chelsea District Library as part of the town's Sounds & Sights event. Unfortunately, Sounds & Sights had a poor turnout this week due to the heat and rain which moved most of the activities indoors.
