Bawk Bawk in the Backyard reaches local libraries!

Washtenaw County Farm Bureau has been busy sharing educational resources throughout the community for Michigan's Food and Agriculture Month. Thanks to their efforts, Bawk Bawk in the Backyard is now available to library patrons in several areas!

I created the watercolor paintings over the course of several years, inspired by my family's experience raising backyard chickens in the city. Sneak Preview: Hardcover proof of Bawk Bawk in the Backyard

My hardcover proof arrived just before the snow hit us! (We are in the midst of a big snowstorm here in Michigan.) This has been years in the making, and it feels surreal. I hope to have copies available in the coming weeks, but in the meantime you can still find the paperback version on Amazon . My Backyard Chicken Political Effort: Local author is advocating for backyard chicken keeping in Lima Township

We were forced to rehome our hens when we moved from urban Ann Arbor to rural Lima Township, something that still doesn't make sense to me. I recently attended my local township meeting in hopes of convincing them to update their ordinance to allow backyard chickens in residential areas.
